## Cassiobury Park
Cassiobury Park covers around 190 acres (77 hectares), created in 1909 when Watford Borough Council purchased part of the former estate of the Earls of Essex, whose house, Cassiobury House, was demolished in 1927. The park extends from the A412 Rickmansworth Road in the east to the Grand Union Canal in the west, with the River Gade and River Colne both running through it.
## Getting To Cassiobury Park
Cassiobury Park is a short walk from Watford town centre along Cassiobury Park Avenue, and is also accessible from Watford station on the Metropolitan line, which sits at the park's southern edge.
