Watford's High Street is pedestrianised and runs through the heart of the town centre, connecting the Harlequin shopping centre with The Parade and Clarendon Road.
The Harlequin
The Harlequin (201 Lower High Street, WD17 2UB) is Watford's main indoor shopping centre. Anchor stores include Primark, Marks & Spencer, and Zara, alongside dozens of other national retailers. The centre has its own multi-storey car park.
Watford Market
Watford Market, on The Parade, combines a covered indoor market of around 45 units — food, retail and services — with an outdoor street market. It's open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 5:30pm, with Wednesday reserved for food traders only.
Eating on the High Street
The High Street has a broad mix of restaurants and takeaways. Aysu Restaurant serves Turkish grills and meze. Nando's and Las Iguanas both have branches on the street. Caffè Nero is one of several cafes for a coffee stop. The Moon Under Water, a JD Wetherspoon pub, is a well-known High Street landmark for food and drink at value prices.
Getting There
Watford Junction (mainline services to London Euston) and Watford High Street (London Overground) stations are both a short walk from the High Street.
